Advocacy training courses

Effective advocacy is at the heart of the legal profession. We’re the leading provider of Higher Rights of Audience training in the UK, dedicated to making sure you’re perfect for practice.

Trainee solicitors who would like to follow a career in litigation can greatly benefit by taking the Higher Rights of Audience training in lieu of their PSC electives.

Although trainees cannot appear in the higher courts until full qualification, the SRA’s regulations provide that all training, assessment and six of the required twelve months experience can be undertaken during the training contract.

Trainees take the same programme of study as qualified solicitors. By attending the Academic Stage of Higher Rights of Audience training, trainees will acquire a detailed understanding of the procedures leading up to court proceedings, as well as the ethical framework within which an advocate operates. The Advocacy stage provides dedicated training, well beyond PSC, on the examination of lay and expert witnesses, and the effective presentation of legal submissions.
