Management Course Stage 1 (MC1)

MC1 is a compulsory Solicitors Regulation Authority course to be taken after qualification and before the end of the third full CPD year.

A one-day course, MC1 includes a series of short, focused presentations by an experienced practitioner, explaining management concepts and terminology in straightforward jargon-free language. After each presentation, you will participate in realistic exercises based on a law firm simulation with financial reports.

The course is a useful introduction to the College’s Management Diploma. The course fee includes a copy of the Solicitors Regulation Authority’s ‘Solicitor’s Guide to Good Management’.

The College of Law Management Course Stage 1 accounts for seven CPD hours and is available on a range of dates at our London centre or can be delivered in-house and tailored to an individual firm’s circumstances and information.

Key course benefits

  • Interactive course design to develop understanding of management issues
  • Unique and realistic law firm situations to demonstrate how to handle business finances, understand clients and manage people more effectively
