Training for barristers

Public Access for Barristers

Since July 2004, barristers have been able to accept instructions direct from the public. In association with the Bar Council, we have developed a unique one-day course which provides barristers with the requisite knowledge to accept and undertake public access work, and fulfils a mandatory requirement of the Bar Council for barristers wishing to undertake this work.

The College of Law is the only provider of the course and has successfully retained this distinction since the inception of the new rule.

Updates and training for barristers with LNTV

"The important issues relating to public access work were clearly identified and good practical advice was given. The tutor instilled confidence at an early stage and had an excellent command of the burning issues facing a barrister new to this area".
