LPC study patterns

Weekly study patterns vary on the LPC, but here’s a guide to our full-time and part-time study patterns:

Full-time (40 hours per week)

  • four i-Tutorials per week
  • four workshops per week – two-and-a-half hours each
  • 30 minutes of online test and feedback exercises preceding each workshop
  • up to six hours of reading and independent learning before each workshop
  • regular online group assignments lasting up to one hour

Students at Birmingham, Chester and York have the option of all face-to-face tuition concentrated into two set days per week.

Part-time – evening (20 hours per week)

  • two i-Tutorials per week
  • two workshops per week – two-and-a-half hours each
  • 30 minutes of online test and feedback exercises preceding each workshop
  • up to six hours of reading and independent learning before each workshop
  • regular online group assignments lasting up to one hour.

Part-time – day (20 hours per week)

  • weekly sessions typically run from 9am to 6pm, following the same pattern of i-Tutorials and workshops as the part-time - evening course.

Part-time – weekend (20 hours per week)

  • up to 13 study weekends per year spread evenly over the academic year
  • each study weekend includes i-Tutorials lasting one hour, plus workshops focusing on practical skills.
