Flexible part-time options
We offer a range of two-year part-time study options, allowing students to combine study with full-time work or other commitments. This flexible approach allows you to manage your time and your finances so that you get the most from your course.
And, if you’re studying part-time, there are still plenty of opportunities to meet and work with fellow students and to hone your legal skills through our practice-related activities.
Corporate route
This route is designed to prepare you for work in a corporate law firm. You’ll learn about the commercial realities of publicly-listed companies and be able to take electives such as acquisitions, banking and debt finance, and public companies and equity finance. This route allows you to apply your learning throughout your LPC in a wide range of corporate contexts.
Commercial and private route
This route is designed to prepare you for work in a regional or high street firm - although at the end of the course you'll be prepared for practice across the entire legal spectrum. Here are just some of the benefits of a career in the commercial and private sector:
- There are more training contracts on offer here than in the corporate sector.
- The work is hugely varied - not just private client, but also plenty of challenging commercial work (eg advising businesses with turnovers of several million pounds).
- Working in a smaller firm can mean you get more responsibility earlier - including more direct contact with clients.
- You can work in a wide range of geographic locations - not just London.
Public legal services route
This is the route for anyone interested in working in a high street firm or a publicly-funded legal practice. As well as studying the compulsory modules, you’ll receive training in the issues surrounding publicly-funded work.
