GDL study patterns

Here’s a guide to our full-time and part-time study patterns:

Full-time (40 hours per week)

  • an average of nine hours tutor contact per week, divided equally between workshops and lectures
  • up to ten hours of preparation for each workshop, using interactive study manuals and online interactive tutorials (i-Tutorials)
  • tuition timetable based around four days per week with the same free day for private study

For your convenience, we also offer students the option of all face-to-face tuition concentrated into two set days per week.

Part-time – evening (20 hours per week)

  • two evenings per week
  • up to three hours of class contact per evening, mostly in workshops
  • up to ten hours of preparation for each workshop, using interactive study manuals and online interactive tutorials (i-Tutorials).

Part-time – day/weekend (20 hours per week)

  • 12 study days per year (10 in Year 2) spread from September through to May, either during the week or at weekends depending on your centre of study
  • interactive study manuals and e-learning for independent learning between study days.

S-mode (20 hours per week)

  • Independent online study using workshops, e-learning, interactive study manuals with work submitted online
  • Nine face-to-face study/examination days over the 18 month period (on Saturdays)
