Where am I? LL.M International E-Newsletter Autumn 2009

Welcome to the LL.M in International Legal Practice
e-newsletter

Graduate landmark

As almost 5,000 legal professionals streamed into Madrid’s conference centre a fortnight ago for the annual conference of the International Bar Association, the IBA and The College of Law marked the second anniversary of their joint LL.M in International Legal Practice.

And only a few weeks before, the course reached its most important landmark so far – the first batch of students to complete their LL.M's. They will be awarded these degree's in November. In this issue of the IBA-College of Law e-newsletter, we profile and interview one of those graduates – a woman who was certainly a model student.

We also continue our profiles of LL.M course tutors – this time focusing on the man who designed the recently launched antitrust and competition module.

In addition, there is another round of positive feedback statistics from research of student attitudes to the course. And perhaps most encouraging for course organisers is research evidence highlighting the strong inclination of existing students to recommend the LL.M to others.

Back to the IBA in Madrid, in this issue we report on efforts by the College and the IBA to take the course to markets around the globe. According to the Madrid team, positive signs are coming from several jurisdictions in South America.
