Legal Support Skills
Support staff in the legal profession operate in a specialist working environment and face unique challenges. They are fundamental to legal work and, as the profession changes, are increasingly involved in key day-to-day legal tasks.
Legal Support Skills is an innovative training programme designed by The College of Law in conjunction with leading law firms to improve staff utilisation and free up fee-earners’ time. It’s specifically designed to provide support staff with the tools they need to meet the daily challenges of their role.
Convenient desktop tuition
Legal Support Skills comprises a series of user-friendly, CD-based interactive training courses that can run from any desktop PC. Support staff can train individually, at their own pace and convenience.
Smarter working
Legal Support Skills training helps support staff realise their full potential and makes them better equipped to provide effective support. Increased productivity and better staff utilisation means your fee-earners can focus on higher value chargeable work, with reduced risk for the firm.
Flexible, modular training
Each multi-media course module features interactive exercises and a resources area, where participants can download notes, link to useful information or access the comprehensive glossary, which explains unfamiliar terms and phrases. To check users’ understanding and progress, there is an optional online test based on all the modules. If completed successfully, participants are awarded a certificate.
There are three modules:
