How many hours of CPD do lawyers need to complete each year?

The SRA stipulates that every full time lawyer must complete a minimum of 16 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year.

Do you tailor courses to specialist practices and niche law firms?

We can work with firms to design bespoke, in-house courses, which is ideal for training groups of lawyers from specialist practice areas. And, because of the variety of our courses, we can cater for many types of law firm – from niche practices to large firms with many practising lawyers.

How are your courses run?

First, we assess the firm’s training requirements and advise on the best approach for them. Once agreed, training can be run at the client’s own premises, at our facilities or at a third party venue nationwide or overseas.

Can firms team up and receive training together?

We can organise and run training for consortia of firms wanting to receive training together. Classes are delivered either at the College itself or in-house at one of the consortium premises.

What is College of Law Media?

College of Law media is a comprehensive series of broadcast-quality CPD training and updating resources available online and on DVD. As an accessible and cost-effective tool, it can count for 100% of CPD hours and is the most popular and widely used multi-media training solution for lawyers.

How can I subscribe to College of Law Media?

Have a look at the webpages to see which practice areas you are interested in. You then call our Customer Centre team who will give you a quote for your firm. The cost depends on the number of channels you wish to receive, and the number of users in the firm - annual subscriptions start from just £180*. You can request a free trial to test the service before you commit yourself.

Do you offer training for support staff?

Secretarial staff, paralegals and other conveyancing staff with no formal legal training may be interested in our qualifications in land registration law and practice - developed in partnership with the Land Registry.
