Living in Guildford

All our courses are non-residential. Some students live at home while they study. However, many of you will need to find somewhere to live. There’s a wide range of accommodation in Guildford to suit all pockets. Our accommodation finder covers a maximum of a 12 mile radius of the College, although most properties are well within this distance.

Surrounding areas

Guildford has several densely populated residential areas which include Onslow Village, Stoughton, Park Barn and Bellfields. All are a few minutes drive from the town centre.  None of these areas have railway stations but there is a bus service which takes you to the Friary bus station.

  • Worplesdon is situated 5 miles from the College. You can catch a direct train to Guildford or a bus to the Friary bus station
  • Normandy is a small rural village 7 miles from the College. There are a few shops and a direct railway service and a bus service to the Friary bus station
  • Godalming town and Farncombe village are both 3 miles away from the College. They offer residential areas, shops and restaurants.  Godalming is lively and popular with students. Further afield are the small villages of Milford and Witley, which are 7 miles from the College. All four areas provide direct trains to Guildford and buses that stop very close to the College
  • Shalford, Bramley, Wonersh, Chilworth and Shamley Green villages are between 3 and 6 miles from the College. They have convenience shops, pubs and both Shalford and Chilworth offer direct trains to Guildford. All areas have a bus service to the Friary bus station
  • West Clandon is a small village, 7 miles from the College. There is a direct railway service and a bus can take you to the Friary bus station
  • Merrow and Burpham are 3 to 4 miles away. Both have large residential areas and several shops. Neither have railway stations but a bus can take you to the Friary bus station. A popular renting area for students
