The College of Law Guildford Centre offers 4 different services providing FREE advice/assistance to members of the public.

Legal Advice Centre

Do you have a non-urgent legal problem on which you would like written advice?

If so, our students may be able to help.

From September to May our students offer FREE preliminary legal advice on a range of issues. All advice is given in writing after interview and under the strict supervision of qualified staff. Interviews are by prior appointment only.

Guildford Employment Rights Advice Line Direct – GERALD

  • Are you an employee?
  • Do you have an employment law query?

If so, GERALD may be able to help you.

GERALD offers FREE preliminary advice on employment law issues to employees. All advice is given by telephone at weekly clinics held on Wednesday evenings throughout the year. Advice is given by fully qualified specialist employment law solicitors, who work on a voluntary basis.

Brighton Leasehold Advice Clinic - BLAC

  • Are you a landlord or tenant under a long lease in the Brighton area?
  • Are you having problems such as excessive service charge demands or managing agents who don’t do their job?

If so, our students may be able to help.

BLAC holds monthly clinics in Brighton where advice is given by volunteer specialist property lawyers. Advice is by appointment only and subject to your providing copies of all relevant paperwork in advance.

If so our students may be able to help.

From September to May our students offer a FREE letter writing/form filling service to members of the public. This service is by prior appointment only and we are not able to provide legal advice. All letters will be checked by a Supervisor.
