Legal Advice – Birmingham and the Midlands

The Birmingham centre offers 3 different services providing FREE information /advice/assistance to members of the public.

1. Legal Advice Centre

Do you have a non-urgent legal problem on which you would like written advice?

If so, our students may be able to help.

From September to May our students offer FREE initial legal advice specialising in non-urgent employment, family law and related issues such as housing.  All advice is given in writing only following interview, under the strict supervision of qualified staff.  Interviews are by prior appointment only.

2. Birmingham Employment Rights Advice Line – BERAL

Are you an employee? 

Do you have an employment law query?

If so, BERAL may be able to help you.

BERAL offers FREE preliminary advice on employment law issues to employees.  All advice is given by telephone at weekly clinics on Wednesday evenings throughout the year.  Advice is given by fully qualified specialist employment law solicitors, who work on a voluntary basis.

3. Birmingham Employment Advice Clinic

Do you have an employment problem on which you would like initial face-to-face advice and assistance?

If so, the Birmingham Employment Advice Clinic may be able to help you.

The clinic is an outreach service of The College’s Legal Advice Centre. You can have a FREE individual interview with a specialist employment lawyer who will advise you, with follow-up in writing. The fortnightly clinic is held on Thursday evenings.
