Guildford is the County Town of Surrey. It is set amidst beautiful countryside, yet only 30 miles from London and easily accessible via major roads and rail links.  The College lies just outside the town centre, on the A3100 Portsmouth Road.

  • Leave at Junction 10. Take exit to A3 towards Guildford and Portsmouth.

A3

  • Leave A3 at the Compton/Charterhouse turn-off (B3000) (approx. 2 miles further on from Guildford Town Centre exit)
  • Down to mini-roundabout, turn left towards Compton Village
  • Pass Harrow pub on right, and travel straight for approx. 11/2 miles
  • Go over hump-backed bridge, then down to roundabout - turn left
  • Go straight over next roundabout
  • At next roundabout go straight ahead (A3100 towards town centre)
  • Go straight over next roundabout (Park and Ride on the right)
  • The College of Law is on the left hand side after approx.1 mile

From Guildford town centre

  • you need to pick up signs for the A3100 to Godalming
  • once you are on this road, the College will be on your right hand side, just after Ye Olde Ship Inn on the left

By train

Guildford train station is served by regular trains from London Waterloo (35 minutes), Portsmouth Harbour, Gatwick, Reading and many other destinations. 

  • London - 35 minutes (take fast train from Waterloo)
  • Portsmouth - 1 hour
  • Reading - 30 minutes
  • Gatwick - 30 minutes

The College of Law is approx. 20 minute walk from the railway station. Alternatively, take the bus from the town centre (see below) or a taxi (about £3.50-£4.00).

By foot

From the station

  • Come out of the main exit of the station (towards the town centre)
  • Walk towards the pedestrian crossing and the subway (but don't cross the road); walk to the right of the subway and climb the steps to street level: you'll see a set of traffic lights.
  • Cross the road at the lights and turn left so that you are walking along the pavement with a high wall on your right and the traffic of the one-way system on your left.
  • Continue on the pavement. You'll pass an Indian Restaurant and an Off-licence on your right.
  • Once you have crossed a road called 'The Mount', you're on the Portsmouth Road (it's best to cross the road at the pedestrian crossing because the pavement runs out!), so just carry on until you reach the College on the right
  • You will pass a pub called 'Ye Old Ship Inn' on your left and the College is shortly after on your right.

By bus

  • Buses 260, 271 and 292 run regularly past the College to Guildford Friary bus station. They also connect to other nearby towns, such as Godalming and Haslemere
  • Ask for St Catherines/The College of Law - the fare is about £1.05
