Term length and holidays

Each year comprises 38 study weeks, made up of one term of 14 weeks and two terms of 12 weeks. You’ll get a similar amount of holiday as secondary school students.

Please see our LL.B course dates page for more information on term dates in 2012 and 2013.

Class size

Workshops: 20 students
Large groups: 60-180 students

High-quality, face-to-face tuition

In small workshops and in larger groups, you’ll get an average of 14 hours of face-to-face training each week, that’s 768 hours over the two years of the course.

Over the whole course, the amount of tutor time you’ll receive is the same as you would get with a traditional three-year degree course (but you'll only pay fees for two years).

What really sets The College of Law LL.B apart from other law degrees is that all of your tutor contact time will be with qualified lawyers, who will be able to pass on their actual practice experience directly to you.

Each module comprises 15 x two-hour face-to-face sessions in small-group workshops and 15 x two-hour face-to-face sessions in large groups.

Modules

In each term you’ll study two modules in parallel. There are six modules in each year – a total of 12 modules over two years.

There are ten compulsory subjects.

Our Law in Action modules allow you to choose from two routes – Law and Individuals or Law and Businesses – depending on the career route that you think you might want to pursue. For further information go to our LL.B in depth page. Also, check out our handy LL.B year planner!

Assessment

At the end of each term you’ll have a revision week followed by an exam in each module. See our LL.B assessments page for further information.
