Distance learning materials

Available for Heads I, II, III, IV

Designed by experienced practitioners, our comprehensive distance learning materials help you prepare for the Test whenever and wherever you like. The package includes:

  • A study manual that highlights key topics, provides a structured study framework and advises on exam technique
  • ‘Test your knowledge’ questions to aid progress
  • E-mail response to specific subject queries

All distance learning materials are couriered to you free of charge. Materials are reviewed annually and are valid for one year. The current materials issued in 2011 will be valid until 31 July 2012 and the final set of materials will be valid from 1 August 2012 to 31 August 2013. Any major changes in legislation and/or regulations are included in a separate update distributed to candidates.

Weekend tuition

Available for Heads I, II, III, IV

This face-to-face tuition takes place at our London Moorgate centre and is led by experienced practitioners. Courses are designed around our distance learning materials, providing a structured framework of recommended study manuals, assignments and test papers to guide you through key syllabus topics. The courses available are as follows:

  • Head I – Property
  • Head II – Litigation (Civil)
  • Head III – Professional Conduct and Accounts
  • Head IV – Principles of Common Law

Online revision tool

Available for Heads I, II, III, IV

This flexible tool allows you to refresh and test your knowledge where and when you choose, using a blend of computer-based interactive learning materials. This includes video and text-based presentations, plus a range of activities to complete on screen – reinforcing key learning objectives and providing instant feedback on your understanding. You control the pace and can you can revisit sections when you wish.

There will be four online revision tool intakes in 2012 and three in 2013. In 2012 these are 1 January, 1 April, 1 July, and 1 October. To gain access to your chosen intake, you must book the month before it is due to start. Each booking entitles you to six months access to the online revision tool. The intakes for 2013 will be published on our website in due course.

Revision sessions

Available for Heads I, II, III, IV

This face-to-face tuition takes place at our London Moorgate centre prior to each Test sitting and is led by experienced practitioners. These four-hour sessions are designed to help you refine your exam technique and enable you to achieve maximum marks. The courses available are as follows:

  • Head I – Property
  • Head II – Litigation (Civil)
  • Head III – Professional Conduct and Accounts
  • Head IV – Principles of Common Law

Mock Test

Available for Heads I, II, III

In order to maximise your chances of success and allow you to test your knowledge and technique prior to the Test, we offer Mock Tests for Heads I to III. Mock Tests are available for all Test sittings.

The mock Test is sent to you by e-mail to complete in advance of your Test date. If you would like the Test to be marked, you must return it to us within seven days of receipt. The paper is then marked by the same experienced College of Law tutors who mark the actual Test. Your script will be returned to you by e-mail with substantive feedback to prepare you before you take your Test.

Inclusive packages – save 20%

Available for Heads I, II, III, IV

In our experience, QLTT candidates benefit from a full programme of learning, revision and exam practice before taking the Test. With this in mind, we have put together two inclusive QLTT packages that give you the benefit of our full range of training – with a 20% saving compared to booking the elements individually.

Distance learning package:

Study where and when you choose, with no need to travel to the College before the Test date. Here’s what’s included:

Fast-track route – complete your training and Test in just 7 days

Available for Head III

This intensive route allows candidates to progress from initial training to the Test in just seven consecutive days. It’s perfect for busy lawyers who want to reach new career goals quickly – without compromising on the quality of their training. The fast-track route is based around face-to-face training at our London Moorgate centre, with access to our online revision tool and time set aside for self-study.

Available for the April, July and October sittings of Head III in 2012, the itinerary is as follows:

  • Day 1: face-to-face tuition on Conduct
  • Day 2: face-to-face tuition on Accounts
  • Day 3: face-to-face mock Test and feedback
  • Day 4: self-study and online revision tool
  • Day 5: self-study and online revision tool
  • Day 6: self-study and online revision tool
  • Day 7: Test

Candidates will have access to our online revision tool and QLTT Helpdesk service throughout the seven-day period. Please note that this route must be booked via our printed booking form – it is not currently available to book online.

We expect to be able to offer the Fast Track route for Head III in February, April and July 2013.
