Practice-focused training
Studying your LPC with us will improve your career prospects. We focus on practical experience, giving you lots of opportunity to apply the critical skills law firms are looking for. We emphasise face-to-face teaching in small group workshops led by qualified lawyers with in-practice experience. All this is supported by our readily-available online learning resources, and our tutors who are available to offer advice in person, by phone or by e-mail.
Our blend of different learning methods encourages you to develop skills in research, self-study and analysis. It is something we take right through to our open book exams – where you are required to behave like lawyers, not simply to pass tests.
The Business of Law
This approach is unique to the College. The Business of Law programme ensures integration of key skills and competencies into the course content, thereby helping you to relate what you’ve learnt in the workshop to what is expected of you in practice. It is based on what we know leading law firms look for and is designed to give you an edge from the moment you go for your first interview to when you start your training contract.

We provide firm specific tailored LPC programmes to Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance and Linklaters. In addition we deliver tailored LPC programmes to many major law firms such as Ashurst, Baker & McKenzie, Berwin Leighton Paisner, DLA Piper, Pinsent Masons and SNR Denton.
Two day timetabling on our full-time course
You can choose to have all your face-to-face tuition and workshops for the core practice areas concentrated into two set days a week on our full-time course.This enables you to reduce your travelling costs and CO2 emissions by consolidating your visits. Please note however, you may have to come into College on additional days for assessments.
Get yourself on the fast-track to an LL.M award
Complete your LPC with The College of Law and you’ll earn 60 Masters level credits and be a third of the way towards obtaining your LL.M Master of Laws degree.
