Corporate
This route is designed to prepare you for work in a corporate law firm, where the main focus of work is business law, together with related aspects of litigation and property.
The route will allow you to apply your learning throughout your LPC in a wide range of corporate contexts. You’ll learn about the commercial realities of groups of companies, often where that group is headed by a public limited company. You will have a wide choice of vocational electives and you may choose to study such electives as banking & debt finance, acquisitions and public companies and equity finance.
The corporate route is currently available to full-time students at all our Centres except London Bloomsbury.
The corporate route will be offered on our Accelerated LPC 7 month full-time course at our Birmingham, Bristol, London Moorgate, Manchester and York centres.

Commercial and private
This route combines broad-based legal skills and sector-specific expertise, preparing you for the huge range of practice options across the commercial and private sector, with a wide choice of electives across legal practice in England & Wales.
Here are just some of the benefits of a career in the commercial and private sector:
- There are more training contracts on offer here than in the corporate sector.
- The work is hugely varied - not just private client, but also plenty of challenging commercial work (eg advising businesses with turnovers of several million pounds).
- Working in a smaller firm can mean you get more responsibility earlier - including more direct contact with clients.
- You can work in a wide range of geographic locations - not just London.
The commercial and private route is currently available to full-time and part-time students at all our Centres except London Moorgate.
The commercial and private route will be offered on our Accelerated LPC 7 month full-time course at our Guildford centre only.

Legal aid
This route prepares you for practice in a community high street firm or the publicly-funded legal sector, providing legal representation for underprivileged groups or members of society.
In addition to the core practice areas studied in the commercial and private context, you’ll study relevant vocational electives which could include advanced criminal practice, housing, family and immigration law. You’ll also receive additional training in the issues surrounding publicly-funded work and take part in pro bono advice programmes.
The legal aid route is currently available to full-time and part-time students at all our Centres except London Moorgate.
The legal aid route cannot be taken on our Accelerated LPC 7 month full-time course.

Allen & Overy

This option is taught exclusively at our London Moorgate centre and is based on corporate law modules with firm-specific precedents and materials. Students train alongside their colleagues from the same firm and their choice of electives matches the practice areas of the firm.
We are the only provider of legal education which offers an LPC tailored specifically to the needs of these firms – a unique endorsement of the quality of our training.
