BPTC entry requirements
- Either a qualifying law degree (2:2 minimum) or an undergraduate degree in any other subject (2:2 minimum) and a Graduate Diploma in Law/CPE
- Students with an overseas degree should discuss their eligibility with the Bar Standards Board
- One of the entry requirements for the BPTC is that students are fluent in English. Applicants should therefore be able to demonstrate that their oral and written English language ability is at least equivalent to a score of 7.5 or above in all subjects of the British Council academic IELTS test; Pearsons academic a score of 73 in all four areas or a TOEFL score of 28 in each section. Please use the College’s code number 8340 when indicating this institution as a score recipient. Scores will be sent to us directly from the Educational Testing Service. Failure to comply with these eligibility requirements means that the College will have no option but to cancel your place on the course. It is important you check out any queries before you apply.

Please note that immigration regulations are subject to change at any time. It is the responsibility of all students from outside the EU to ensure you have a visa covering the full duration of your course.
Joining an Inn of Court
You must join an Inn of Court before you can start the BPTC.

Bar aptitude test
The BSB may be introducing a Bar aptitude test in August 2012 for those wishing to start the course in September 2013. Further details can be obtained via the Bar Standards Board website.
