Our specialist team of careers consultants are professionally qualified and draw on their backgrounds in careers guidance, graduate recruitment and legal practice. They are constantly liaising with firms, chambers and other legal employers to ensure that you get the most up-to-date and relevant information to help you start your legal career.
Support from the start
As soon as you accept your place at the College you’ll have access to our careers service including:
- Online materials from articles to help you with your CV, to feedback forms to prepare you for interview
- Vacancy and employer database
- One-to-one careers advice: face-to-face, by telephone or by e-mail
- Summer workshops such as CVs, covering letters and application forms and interviewing skills
Support whilst studying your course – some of the things on offer:
- Help with planning your career, drafting applications & preparing for interviews
- The Mentoring Scheme – where you can benefit from the experiences of solicitors and barristers to assist you in your career preparation
- The Buddy Scheme – where you can be paired with a previous student currently undertaking their training contract or pupillage
- Extensive and wide ranging programme of talks and workshop on specific careers topics
- Employer presentations and sector specific law fairs
- Interviews and assessment centres including psychometric test
- Careers Library housing all the major reference books, careers service handouts and online resources
