Support from the start

As soon as you accept your place at the College, you’ll have access to our careers service including:

  • Online materials from articles to help you with your CV, to feedback forms to prepare you for interview.
  • Vacancy and employer database
  • One-to-one careers advice: face-to-face, by telephone or by email.
  • Summer workshops covering CVs, covering letters and application forms and interviewing skills.

You can either book an appointment or attend a drop-in session.

Careers Library

The library contains copies of major reference books, careers service handouts and online resources can be accessed via the PCs in this area.

There are a series of workshops covering careers topics throughout the academic year.

Employer Presentations
Throughout the year there will be a series of talks from employers within the legal profession.

Employer Fair
The Employer Fair is a popular annual event for students at the College in Guildford. A number of firms attend the fair ranging from small criminal niche practices to large regional commercial firms. The fair is an excellent networking opportunity for students.

Pre-Interview Peer Support (PIPS)
If you have an interview or assessment day pending, the careers service may be able to put you in contact with a student who successfully secured a pupillage or training contract with that set or firm.

Interview Feedback Forms
You can also view Interview Feedback Forms completed by previous students, giving you an insight into the interview process at law firms and chambers.
