Entry and qualifications
Entry
This module will be a good choice if:
- you have taken W200 Understanding law or W201 Law: the individual and the state and/or W300 Law: agreements, rights and responsibilities, or you have studied the law before and have an up-to-date knowledge of the Foundations of Legal Knowledge and want to develop your understanding, either out of general interest or because some legal knowledge would be useful in your work
- you have taken W200, W201 and W300 and intend to obtain a qualifying law degree
The module assumes that you already have knowledge and understanding of the law, particularly the Foundations of Legal Knowledge and we strongly advise you to take W200 Understanding law first
W301 is a Level 3 course, which builds on study skills and subject knowledge acquired from studies at Levels 1 and 2. They are intended only for students who have recent experience of higher education in a related subject, preferably with the OU. If you have any doubt about the level of study, please seek advice from your Regional Centre
Qualifications
This is a compulsory module in our LL.B degree. It can also count towards most of our other degrees at bachelor’s level and can help to weight your degree towards a BA. It is up to you to ensure that you are properly informed about the circumstances in which the module can count towards these qualifications.
